Theda M. Correll, 84 of Columbus passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Medicalodge of Columbus.
Theda was born October 13, 1926 in Columbus, the daughter of Clyde and Marie (Childers) DeVoe.
She graduated from Columbus High School in 1944 and married Clyde Correll on December 6, 1946. The couple made there home in the Columbus area.
She started working in the District Clerk’s office in 1959 and was appointed Clerk of the District Court in 1977. She retired in 1989.
Theda enjoyed cooking and sewing, but her love in life was her family. She was an active member of First Christian Church.
Theda was preceded in death by, her husband Clyde in 2002; sister, Sally Barnett and brother Bob DeVoe.
She is survived by two sons, Tom Correll and wife Jan of Columbus and Ted Correll of Columbus; three granddaughters, Kim Scripsick and husband Chris, children, Ali, Ava, and Aubrey of Pittsburg, Kelly Correll and fiancé Terrell Abbott of Austin, Texas and Tiffany Lopp and Dustin Beaty, children Peyton, Kaitlynn, Savannah and Dawson of Columbus; one grandson Kyle Correll and wife Tabatha and child Brooklyn of Annapolis, Md.; sister, Marjorie Parmele of Wichita and brother, Ned DeVoe of Columbus.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2011 in the Murdock Chapel with Roger Beason and Dennis Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursday. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church with the Murdock Funeral Home 132 E. Pine, Columbus, KS, 66725 serving as custodian.
