Dwight A. Lollar, 77 of Mulvane, Kan. formerly of Weir, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
He was born October 31, 1934 in Hallowell, Kan. the son of Ralph and Verna (Hansell) Lollar.
He attended School in Columbus where he graduated with the class of 1952. He joined the U.S. Army in June of 1957 in May of 1959; he then transferred to the Army Reserves and was honorably discharged in May 1963.
On October 17, 1959 he was united in marriage to Patricia Strickland in Oswego, Kan.; she survives him of the home in Mulvane.
Dwight worked for Dickey Clay, City of Weir, Arma Elevator and lastly the PSU maintenance dept. where he worked for 23 years.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cherokee for many years; he has been attending the First Baptist Church of Haysville, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant brothers.
He was also was active in the American Legion of Weir.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Janet and husband Dave Grant of Chetopa, Kan. and Carol and husband Ron Harris of Haysville, Kan.; three sisters, Karen Rion of Walnut, Kan., Twila Brown of Oswego, Kan. and Ruth Naff of Parsons, Kan.; two brothers, Kenneth Lollar of Pittsburg and Darrel Lollar of Arma, Kan.; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, October 22, 2012 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Weir with Rev. Ben Scott and Rev. Jamie Tickel officiating. Burial will follow in the Hosey Hill Cemetery.
