Mary L. McNeil 83, of Scammon, Kan. died 7:25 p.m. Monday February 28, 2011 at her home following a short illness.
Mary was born June 16, 1927 in Springfield, Ill., the daughter of Leonard and Mary (DeBello) Carlini.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended area schools in West Mineral, Kan.
On December 21, 1946 Mary married Joe Spendal in Girard, Kan.; they later divorced. She later married Charles McNeil in Miami, Okla.; he preceded her in death in August of 1970.
Mary worked at Barto’s Idle Hour in Frontenac, Kan. as a food preparer for over 40 years retiring in 1998. Mary was of the Christian Faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Robert DeSharlo and sisters Christina Gibson, Rose Gobetz and Betty Bennett.
Survivors include daughters, Linda Larkins and husband Bill of Scammon, Kan. and Connie Allen and husband David of Columbus, Kan.; sisters, June Ilcewicz of Joliet, Ill., Violet Schmidt of Arma, and Kan., Lena Carlini of Arma, Kan.; grandchildren, Mandee Schmelzer and husband Eric of Columbus, Kan. and Jay Allen of Walton, Kan. and great-grandchildren Lauren and Lindi Schmelzer of Columbus, Kan.
