Last weekend the Titan Wrestling Team competed at the Chanute wrestling tournament. Two wrestlers placed in the tournament and two others were both one match from placing in the top four. Taylor Watkins wrestling at 138 placed 2nd in the tournament. In Taylor's semi-final match he defeated Jake Ellis of Mill Valley the #4 ranked wrestler in class 5A. Wrestling at 195 Gavin Houser placed 3rd and went 2-1 on the day. Two other wrestlers were 2-2 on the day and just one match from placing and that was Seth Sullivan wrestling at 170 and Aaron Napier Wrestling at 182. Other Wrestlers who competed in this tournament were Derek Creel, Cody Freeman, Dalton Britt, and Garrett Brittain. Our next match will be against LCHS and Coffeyvile at Coffeyville Thursday night.

On Jan. 24 the Titan wrestling team lost two matches to Missouri schools. In the first dual Columbus lost 45 to 28 to Seneca, and in the second dual Columbus lost 71 to 10 to Neosho. Two Titan wrestlers were undefeated on the night Taylor Watkins wrestling at 138, and Derek Creel wrestling at 106. Below is a list of the results from both duals:
