RIVERTON - What a second quarter the Riverton Rams had on their home field against the Cherokee Southeast Lancers. The Rams scored 42 points in that stanza. In four minutes of the clock Riverton scored 30 points.

Just under the 10 minute mark, quarterback Greyson Spriggs hit a wide open Chandler Underhill about the 30 yard line marker and Underhill scooted in for a 64 yard touchdown. Nolan Wall kicked the extra point.

A minute and half later Austin Powell intercepted the ball and ran in for a 36 yard TD. Wall's kick was good.

The next touchdown was set-up with a short swing pass to KeyShawn Walker to the 14. After an incomplete pass, the Rams were facing a 3rd down and 6. Spriggs kept the ball and scored from 14 yards out. With Wall's kick the Rams went up 35-0. Another minute and half later, Southeast over snapped a punt attempt which Jake Neal recovered in the end zone. Wall's kick was good 42-0.

One more touchdown of the quarter was added when the Rams started at their own 41. Spriggs threw a screen pass to Tyler Morrill for 10 yards. Hunter Deckard moved the ball 17 yards. Morrill ran 14 yards to the 14. A Lancer's face mask call advanced Riverton to the 9. Riverton was called for a block in the back and they moved back to the 24. With a leaping catch at the back of the end zone, Spriggs caught Wall. Wall made his kick good.

With 42 seconds left in the quarter, Powell got his second interception and with a 10 yard return the Rams were on their 40. Neal blasted up the right side and eluded 4 tacklers for a 60 yard score. Wall made his kick.

Riverton started the game slow but threatened as they moved to the 8 on a run by Underhill. A stripped ball as Underhill was down and the officials called a fumble stopped the drive. Later with nice runs by Spriggs and Morrill set up a Morrill 2 yard touchdown. Wall's kick was good. Southeast stared at their 39 and Deckard got an interception. After a 9 yard pass from Spriggs to Underhill, Spriggs caught Underhill in stride for a 64 yard TD. Spriggs ran in the 2-point conversion.

In the 3rd quarter, Deckard did a pick-6 for a 55 yard touchdown. A Rams personal foul negated the TD and Riverton were moved to the 39. Underhill, playing quarterback, did an option to the left and kept the ball and ran right for his 3rd touchdown for the night. Again Wall's kick was good to put the Ram's up 62-0.

With mostly JV players on defense, the Lancer's quarterback Josh Thompson broke to the right side for Southeast's first score. A bad snap stopped the 2-point conversion. With 1:08 left in the game, Southeast's freshmen Daniel Peak ran in for a touchdown for a final 60-12 score.

Spriggs and Underhill had another great offensive game. Spriggs threw only 10 passes but connected on 9 for 256 yards. Greyson carried 7 times for 53 which accounts for 309 total yards. Underhill caught 4 passes for 142 yards and rushed 4 times for 51 for 193 total yards. Morrill carried 7 times and netted 31. Tight end Travis Qualls caught 1 pass for 53. As a team the Rams had 476 yards total vs. 146 for the Lancers. Riverton had 11 first downs with 10 coming in the first half. Southeast had 2 first downs in the first and ended with 10.

On the defensive side, defensive end Walker ended with 4 solo tackles and 3 assists. Linebacker

Sam Taylor had 6 assists and 3 solo tackles. Linebacker Qualls had 1 forced fumble and 1 recovery.
