The Columbus Titans had a rough night against the Field Kindley Golden Tornadoes Friday.

The boys fell 85-44 after a crushing first half.

Field Kindley came out strong in the first quarter holding Columbus to just six point while racking up 31 of their own, and continued the hammering in the second 28-16 and went into the locker rooms at half time up 59-22.

Columbus came out in the second half an tried to claw back in range, putting together a 19-10 quarter and were down 69-41 going into the third quarter, but the ‘Nadoes put the breaks on any comeback, shutting down Columbus' offense all but entirely in the final period of the game, out scoring Columbus 16-3.

Turnovers have been an issue for the young Titan squad all season and Friday night was no exception. The Titans committed 26 to Kindley's 14 and were out rebounded 33-22.

Things were not much better for the girls as the ‘Nadoes picked up a 31-point win 52-21 Friday night.

A brutal first half likewise doomed the Columbus girls as Field Kindley out scored Columbus 35-13 in the first half.

Columbus was never able to fight back and was unable to muster any defense in the second half.

The Columbus boys are now 6-9 overall and 0-3 in league play. The Lady Titans are 4-11 overall and 0-3 in league.

Things were not much better on Jan. 31 against independence.

The Independence Bulldogs basketball team scored 56 points and held the host Columbus Titans to 34 in the Bulldogs league triumph on Tuesday.

The Indy girls also walked past Columbus, picking up an easy 65-47 win behind 22 points from Anna Hillnight.
