The Lady Rams out hit the Jasper Eagles 15-6 last week but lost in 9 innings 8-7.

Down 6-3 in the 7th, Riverton scored four to take the lead. Shelby Mitchell walked, Kylie Woods singled, and Madison Hull plated both runners on a triple. With last bats, Jasper tied the game 7-7 with a walk, and a first base error. In the 8th, the Lady Rams received base hits from Mitchell and Woods but both were stranded.

The 9th saw Riverton go three up-three down. Jasper scored the winning run on a second base error. The runner moved to third on the next batter’s Riverton throwing error, and came home on a wild pitch.

Molly McDonald knocked a triple and 2 singles in the game. Hull had a triple and a single. Woods, Addison Berry, and Brittnie Myers each collected 2 base hits. On the mound, Mitchell fanned 10 and walked 4.

Against Galena at Riverton an oddity occurred. The Lady Rams run ruled the first game 11-1 and was run ruled 16-6 in the second match.

Hull had a fine performance in the first game. On the mound Madison allowed Galena only one hit and at the plate she had a double and 3 base hits. Woods knocked a double and a single. Mitchell had 3 singles, and McDonald 2. Myers added a double.

In the second game, the hits were even with 10 apiece. The Lady Bulldogs scored when opportunity arose and Riverton couldn’t cross the magical pentagon when needed. In the shortened five inning match, Galena scored in every inning but the second.

On the Lady Rams offensive side, McDonald had a triple and a single. Taylor Price and Mitchell each had 2 base hits, and Kayli Rawlins, Myers, and Hull added singles.
