ERIE ó Baxter Football Coach Don Bigbyís Lions generated positive yardage in Erie against Coach Rick Hortonís Red Devils but still could not come away with the win as they dropped a 17-8 decision last Friday night.

Senior running back Amos Bindel had a stellar night on the ground as he racked up 192-yards on thirty-one carries. The Lions would rush thirty-nine times and end the game with 105-yards on the ground after some negative yardage plays negated part of Bindelís effort.

Lions sophomore quarterback Cody Rowe would pass twelve times for 2 completions and 1 interception. Baxter junior Derek Barnes would attempt 2 pass that would fall incomplete. The Lions would end the game with twelve first downs compared to the Red Devils 6 on the night.

Erie would throw twenty-three times but only connected on 6 passes for a total of 85-yards. The Red Devils rushed for 90-yards on forty carries. Erie would end the game with no turnovers.

Coach Rick Hortonís Red Devils are back in action in an away game on Friday against the Frontenac Raiders. The Baxter Lions are celebrating homecoming festivities this Friday, Sept. 28, at 6:30 p.m. with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
