Tuesday night the Columbus Junior High football teams split their

games with the Girard Trojans. Columbus 8th graders lost to Girard 36

to 0, and the Columbus 7th graders won their game 28 to 12.

The 8th grade team gave up too many points early in the game and was

never able to get the offense going in their 36 to 0 loss to Girard.

The next game for the 8th grade team will be next Tuesday here against

Baxter with game time beginning at 5:00 PM.

The 7th grade team will score four touchdowns in the first half and

cruise to a 28 to 12 victory against Girard. The first score of the

game came when Keenan Stanley scored on a 25 yard touchdown run in the

first quarter. Also in the first quarter, Stanley was able to score on

a 30 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown. Cameron Mitchell ran in the

conversion for a 14 to 0 lead. In the second quarter Stanley will

score two more times to put the Titans up at half 28 to 0. On the last

touchdown quarterback Ridge Smith ran in conversion to give the Titans

the 28 point lead. In the second half

Girard scored 12 points and the final score of the game was 28 to 12.

Overall the 7th grade team played well and are next game will be next

Tuesday against Baxter after the 8th grade game.
