Life Christian School finished fourth in both the High School and Elementary divisions Saturday at the 22nd annual Mid-states Christian League track and field meet at Chanute. The host school captured the team championship in the High School division, while Pittsburg’s Covenant Harvest School took top honors in the elementary division.

In the high school division, LCS senior Cassandra Hawkinson captured first in the shot put, second in the high jump, third in the 200 meter dash and seventh in the 100 meter. Sophomore Janna Blake captured runner-up honors in the 400 meter, the 800 meter, the standing broad jump, and fourth place in the running long jump. Junior Janelle Blake took second in the shot put.

In the elementary division, Triston Perryman captured first in the standing broad jump, third in the running long jump, third in the three legged race and fifth in the 50 meter dash.

In the kindergarten competition, Eli Touchton took fourth in the softball throw, eighth in the standing broad jump and ninth in the 25 meter dash. Hayleigh Johnson was seventh in the softball throw, seventh in the 25 meter dash, third in the three-legged race, and ninth in the standing broad jump. Kindergarten is part of the elementary division in the team competition.
