Whitney Jo (Koons) Davis, 44, of Columbus, passed away December 23, 2008 at St. John’s Medical Center in Joplin, Mo. from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Whitney was born on February 27, 1964 in Columbus, the daughter of George and Beverly (Pyne) Koons.
She graduated from Columbus Unified High School and received her CNA from Labette Community College.
Whitney was a member of the First Christian Church. who worked at St. John’s Maude Norton Memorial Hospital as a Certified Nurses Aide.
Whitney’s passion in life was spending time with her family, her friends and mothering teenagers. She was a Girl Scout Leader, who loved cooking and scrapbooking.
She was preceded in death by grandparents Earl and Pearl Koons.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Davis of the home; two sons, Zack Davis of the home and Robert D. Davis and wife Linda of Columbus; a daughter, Jodie Cartwright and husband Daniel of Pineville, Mo; parents, George and Beverly Koons of Columbus; grandparents, Arlie and Rosalie Pyne of Columbus; a brother, Kraig Koons and companion Amy Smith of Columbus, five grandchildren, Chelsea, Lindsay, Courtney Davis, Joseph and Matthew Cartwright; A niece, Rilie Koons; a nephew, Kole W. Koons and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2008 in the Murdock Chapel with Pastor Roger Beason of the First Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Park Cemetery.
