I was getting my spark plugs changed at Star Lube Auto Express Care when in came (R-L) James Tosima, Linda Schmelzer, Henry Riley, Peyton Herrenbruck, Joshua Spencer and Joseph Barnes representing the Lion Pride Band-Choir at our beloved Baxter High school.
The six were singing Valentine songs as a fundraiser, longtime Star Lube employee Scott's wife, had sent them out to sing to her beloved husband. They serenaded around 35 folk who's loved ones thought enough of them and the Baxter Band to send them a Singing Valentine.
Joseph Barnes (far left) was recently crowned Baxter Springs 2020 Basketball homecoming King. He also sings in the choir at Tennessee Prairie Friends church in Cherokee County. Delaney Barnes was crowned 2020 homecoming Queen. I will have more to share about the Senior trip, 'after prom party' and candy grams next week. Keep all the students in your prayers.
