This letter is a big thank you to the Cherokee County's Sheriffs department, and particularly Sergeant Detective Matthew Peters.
After two wonderful days of genealogy hunting around Ozark, Missouri, my three sisters, my brother and I ran out of gas five miles east of Baxter Springs as the sun was going down. After two hours, through the efforts of Sergeant Detective Peters we were able continue our journey home.
In addition, we want to thank the Kansas State Master Trooper Oren Daugherty who also assisted us that night. Both men made our ordeal safer and less stressful. These two officers reinforced our respect for our peace officers and their dedication they have to our communities. We wish them a safe and successful career in the future.
