Judith Ann (Osborne) Cooper, age 77 of Baxter Springs, passed away at her daughter’s home at 6:13 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018.
Judy was born in Carthage, Mo. on June 29, 1940 to the union of Orville Charles Osborne and Dorothy Jane (Johnson) Osborne. The family moved to the state of Oregon when Judy was young, and she spent most of her childhood in the Portland, Ore. area. She returned to Baxter Springs at the age of 16.
Judy worked at King Louie Manufacturing, and was also a Med-Aide & CNA at Quaker Hill Nursing Home for several years. Many residents of the Baxter Springs area will remember her for her time spent working as a cashier at the Baxter Walmart. She also spent time in Home Interior Sales, working local shows and decorating homes for people throughout the area, and was the top salesperson in the group for many years. Family was very important to Judy, and anytime you talked to her you could count on her bragging on her grandkids.
Judy is survived by one son, William Reeves (wife, Heidi) of Joplin, Mo.; three daughters, Linda Kay Riggs (companion, Gary Copeland) of Armstrong, Mo., Julia Ann Quiros (husband, Manny) of Miami, Fla., and Rebecca Jane McDonald (husband, Terry) of Riverton; as well as 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, William “Bill” Allen Osborne.
Judy was entrusted to Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel for cremation. The family will hold a memorial service on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 7 p.m. at Riverton House of Prayer. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
