Virginia LaRue Nolan, 88, of Tulsa, Okla. passed away peacefully on April 25, 2018 at home surrounded by family.

She was born on May 19, 1929 in Denver, Colo. to Robert H. and Leona W. LaRue of Columbus, Kan.

Virginia graduated from the University of Kansas with her degree in Business Administration. She later worked for the First National Bank of Columbus and then the Maxwell Bridge Company. She married Thomas Connor Nolan of Joplin, Mo., in 1957, then divorced in 1977.

Virginia loved her family, to whom she dedicated her life. She was known to all as a kind, compassionate woman. Throughout her life, she demonstrated a strong work ethic which she imparted to all her children. In her golden years, she was finally able to take some time for herself, meeting new friends at her health club where she enjoyed socializing and working out in the exercise pool, yoga classes and even Pilates classes. Virginia also adored her dogs, and treated them like family. And she loved watching birds, especially Cardinals, just as her father and grandmother had.

Virginia is survived by children and their spouses: Elizabeth Nolan, Nancy and Rick Stutsman, Caroline Nolan of Tulsa, Okla., and Melissa and Thomas C. Nolan Jr. of St. Louis, Mo.; grandchildren Richard and Pearson Stutsman, and Tom, Natalie & Michael Nolan, as well as several great-grandchildren; and her brother William W. LaRue (Overland Park, Kan.). She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Henry A. LaRue (Sewickley, Pa.) and Robert H. LaRue Jr. (Tulsa, Okla.); two sisters-in-law, Marion Klein LaRue (Sewickley, Pa.) and Elaine Burns LaRue (Overland Park, Kan.); and her beloved dog, Chelsea.

Private services will be held for the family.
