PITTSBURG — Police were dispatched early Friday morning to the Snak-Atak convenience store at the corner of Rouse and East 4th Street following a report of an armed robbery.

A white male wearing a face covering and stocking cap allegedly entered the store, displayed a handgun to the clerk on duty, and demanded cash, according to a Pittsburg Police Department press release. The suspect allegedly fled the area northbound on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police searched the area surrounding the store but were unable to locate the suspect. No one was harmed during the commission of the armed robbery, according to police.

Snak-Atak has seen several robberies and attempted robberies in recent years, including one last year in which the suspect was later arrested after a police chase in Parsons, and one in 2014 in which the clerk refused to give the would-be robbers any money, and they escaped with only a box of candy.
