The annual ACRA/IPRA Rodeo is headed for Columbus.
The rodeo is set to start tonight at the Columbus Saddle Club Arena.
Events for the rodeo include bareback riding, bull dogging, calf roping and bull riding. There are also entertainment activities scheduled for each night including a clown contest and a boot race for children as well as a dance planned for Saturday night after the rodeo.
Nightly activities start around 7:45 p.m. and all parents are welcome to watch their children during the clown contest and the boot race.
Additionally the crowning of the Rodeo Queen and Rodeo Princess will take place on Sunday during the rodeo.
Crossland Construction Executive Assistant Marta Brown said they estimate on average about 3,000 people attend the rodeo each year. She said most of the people who attend come from within driving distance.
Brown also said the rodeo has been in Columbus for well over 50 years.
Activities for the Rodeo will start at 7:45 p.m. tonight and will run through Sunday.
