DeWane Arthur Hansen, age 83, passed away at 2:40 p.m., Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Golden Living Center, Pittsburg, Kan. following an illness.
DeWane was born November 20, 1931 in Red Cloud, Neb. His parents were Arthur and Helen (MacIntosh) Hanson.
He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the U S Army.
He began working at the Eagle Picher Couples Division, Joplin, Mo. in 1957, retiring in 2004. He was also an ordained minister with the Apostolic Faith and pastored the Mission in Purcell, Mo. for 26 years. He had recently attended the House of Prayer, Riverton, Kan. His favorite pastime was flower gardening in his yard.
DeWane was married to Phyllis E Robinson on May 21, 1955 in Taneyville, Mo. She survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Arthur Hansen (wife, Kathy), Pleasant Hope, Mo. and Lester Hansen, Galena, one brother, Don Hansen (wife, Cathy), Perry, Mo., one sister, Shirley Hansen, Joplin, six grandchildren, Tara Colt, Christina Hanson, Victoria Hansen, Kara Hansen, Kayln Hansen, and Kaleb Hansen; and four great-grandchildren, Thomas Colt, Timothy Colt, Titus Colt, and Trevor Volt.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena. Rev. George Clay will officiate. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery, Galena.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to either the House of Prayer, or the Apostolic Four State Youth Camo in care of the funeral home.
