Albert Fast, 77, of Columbus, Kan. passed away December 27, 2010, while on a family Christmas trip to Hawaii.
He was married to Janice Card Fast for 53 years and she survives.
They have one daughter, Elizabeth Fast, an attorney in Kansas City, Mo.
Preceding him in death were two sisters, one brother, and a very special nephew, Michael Porter.
Additional local survivors include a very special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Lewis Porter of rural Galena, Kan., and a very special niece and husband Dr. Beth Porter Pitts and Dr. Lucas Pitts of Fairway, Kan. Other survivors include two brothers, Ervin Fast of Mt. Lake, Minn. and Marlyn Fast of Goshen, Ind.; one sister, Mary Schmidt of Buhler, Kan.
Albert was a member of the First Christian Church where he served on the board of trustees. For many years he worked as a Medical Technologist at St. Johns Maude Norton Hospital in Columbus, Kansas.
Pursuant to Albertís wishes no public funeral service will be held, but the family will hold a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First Christian Church.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Murdock Funeral Home, Columbus, Kansas.
