The Columbus Girls Softball team split a double header with the Pittsburg Purple Dragons Friday, picking up the early game 8-5 and dropping the nightcap 11-8.
Haley Evans led scoring for the Titans with two runs on two hits with one RBI and a double.
The Titans were down 2-0 going into the second inning and then opened up with a five run inning and never looked back. Both teams scored one in the fifth and two in the seventh.
Down 5-1 in the bottom of the third, the Titans again came roaring back with a five run inning to pull ahead 6-5. They extended their lead by two in the fourth, but were unable to score down the stretch and Pittsburg scored three in the sixth to tie it up and three in the extra-inning 8th to put it out of reach.
Evans and Taylor Hamilton tied for top batter with Evans picking up two runs on four hits and two doubles. Hamilton also scored two runs on four hits, had three RBI and a double.
Columbus also put the hurt on Riverton last week with a 20-2 five-inning run-rule victory over the Lady Rams.
