“There are two things I am very happy about,” said Titan Coach Kevin Brown following his teams victory Saturday afternoon for a fifth place finish in the Lancer Classic.

“First I was very happy that we won every quarter and second we had a running clock in the fourth quarter and we were ahead.”

The Titans took a 67-52 victory over Marmaton Valley to win the consolation bracket of the tourney. They also won two games in a row which is the most consecutive wins in two years.

Marmaton Valley didn’t have a shot in the first four minutes of the game.

The Titan press took them completely out of the game.

The first quarter ended with the Titans leading 22-9.

“We were making shots, I don’t think we took a bad shot in the game,” said Brown. “Our depth is beginning to show. We pressured the ball without fouling, which is something we hadn’t down in other games.”

“The guys really played hard and they are beginning to put things together,” continued Brown.

The Titans had four players in double figures as they were led in scoring by Matt Crain with 21 points.

Jaden Tedlock score 15 including three from behind the three point arch.

Lewis Kellogg in his best game of the season scored 12 points as did Joe Tillman.

Taylor Spear had four points and Justin Rogers scored two points.

The Titans will host Iola tonight (Monday). The game will begin at approximately 7:30 p.m. immediately following the Lady Titans game
