“I can’t be disappointed when the team plays as hard as they did, we got in foul trouble early and didn’t hit our shots,” said Lady Titan Coach Kenny Boeckman following the loss Friday night to the Labette Co. Grizzlies 58-40.
“Our seniors played a great game, for the last time before a home crowd, and they hustled until the end,” said Boeckman. “When you have a record like ours and the team fights to the end it tells you something.”
The Lady Titans actually outscored the Grizzlies in the final quarter 17-14, hitting some three point baskets in the final minutes.
Senior Cassie Stanley led the Titans in scoring with 10 points, Bailie Hatfield and Audra Stover each had seven; Paige Fletcher and Natalie Koons each had six points.
Karlee Leahmann led the Grizzlies with 16 points.
The Lady Titans trailed 28-17 at half time.
The Titans final regular season game will be played in Independence Tuesday night followed by the Regional play-offs.
